• Ursodeoxycholic Acid is a bile acid that decreases the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver and absorbed by the intestines.
• Helps break down cholesterol that has formed into stones in gall bladder
• Suppresses hepatic synthesis and secretion of cholesterol and also Inhibits intestinal absorption of cholesterol
• Reduces cholesterol content of biliary fluid
• Dissolves gall stones that are radiolucent in patients with a functioning gall bladder
• Normalizes liver enzymes and prevents hepatic disease progression

INDICATIONS:

• Dissolution of cholesterol-rich gallstones
• Cholestasis
• Primary biliary cirrhosis
• Prophylaxis of gallstones in patients undergoing rapid weight loss

Dose:

UDIWIN-300: 10-15 mg/kg/day or as directed by physician
UDIWIN-150: 6-12 mg/kg/day OD at bedtime or BID for 3 to 6 months or as directed by physician.
